Dutch Design & Synthesis Guest Lectures: Prof. Jeroen Cornelissen

Published on

Prof. Jeroen Cornelissen (1MESA+ Institute for Nanotechnology, University of Twente, Enschede, The Netherlands) visited Syncom as part our Dutch Design & Synthesis guest lectures. His talk, entitled ‘Using viruses as building blocks in functional materials’ disclosed the design and control of the assembly of viral protein cages into materials of well-defined nano-scale dimensions, to use these e.g. as a nanoreactor and scaffolds for functional materials employing techniques from biomolecular engineering with tools from supramolecular and polymer chemistry.
