Dutch Design & Synthesis Lecture: Prof. Bert Meijer

At Syncom we were pleased to welcome Prof. Bert Meijer as a guest of our Dutch Design & Synthesis lectures. Winner of this year’s Nagoya Gold Medal, his talk disclosed his latest research on the non-covalent synthesis of molecular systems.

Bert Meijer obtained his PhD degree cum laude from the University of Groningen in 1982 under the supervision of professor H. Wijnberg (co-founder of Syncom). After some years working in industry, Bert Meijer started as professor in Organic Chemistry at the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e) in 1992. From 2004, he was appointed as Distinguished University Professor of Molecular Sciences at this University. His contributions to science have been recognized with numerous awards, including the Golden Medal of the Royal Dutch Chemical Society, the Arthur K. Doolittle award of the American Chemical Society,  the Silver Medal of the MacroGroup UK of the Royal Society of Chemistry and the SPINOZA-Award of the Dutch Science Foundation NWO
